A remarque is a small original drawing or symbol that is done by the artist. I have painted a remarque on a matte or near my signature on a print. I personally use acrylic, colored pencil or pencil but it also can be done in watercolor or pen & ink. The presence of a remarque is most appreciated by serious art collectors because it not only adds value to a print but also because it becomes a one of a kind. Here is an example of a print, entitled Amos, that I remarqued. As titles of my paintings are very important to me……….I was showing a close friend of mine my new website over the holidays and we started talking about my black & white painting of this Lion. As I hadn’t titled it yet, we decided that it should be named, ‘The Lion of Judah” Revelation 5:5. I painted this on a 9 X 12 black canvas. The framed original is available here. Thank you. Lynette
