Isaiah 40:31 is one of the great Bible verses and a personal favorite of mine! I was inspired to paint the visual image it portrays because of the strength and hope it offers people who put their trust in the Lord and wait for His help to soar above the various trials this life presents.
“Yet those who wait for the Lord” infers a person’s choice to fully trust God and wait for His help. Our human abilities and strength can never match God’s power, guidance and direction. It is only when we put our confidence in Him that we can wait with a sense of hope and expectation knowing God is faithful to all His promises.
“To mount up” literally means to ascend and pictures the eagle’s strength and courage to fly above the dangerous storms to safety. God does that for us—He provides the renewed strength and courage to face our trials, trusting Him fully. This verse gives people hope and faith in God during those difficult times in life.
“With God’s strength, we can run and not get tired.” God will provide the needed energy and fortitude to persevere and with His help we can be encouraged and not become weary.
It is my hope and prayer that this painting touches you and helps you through life’s difficult times.
